Memberships
Dr. Abbas is currently Vice President Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology and G.I. Endoscopy. He is a member of Executive Committee of Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases, member Guidelines Committee of World Gastroenterology Organization, member American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology and Asian-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver. Dr. Abbas has vast experience of chairing Organizing and Scientific Committees of different annual meetings held in Karachi
Research and Publications
Dr. Abbas received the Sarwar Zuberi and Khawaja Sadiq Gold Medals for best papers in liver and GI diseases from the Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology, medal from Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences, and Young Investigator Awards from Asian Pacific Congress of Gastroenterology. He has more than 90 papers to his credit in peer reviewed journals. His special interest is in Chronic viral hepatitis
